16

I wrote this when I was 16.
What happened?....

10 Fragments of a Thoughtless Existence

1.

No thought is ever self-sufficient of course.
Never once could someone map the intricacies of the human mind upon a clear and concise line.

2.

And while your conclusions are never drawn from a simple word, cavernous thought only
Suffices small talk;

The kind of talk that sits one upon a living room couch to point out the obvious and contrived
To the least intelligible of ears.

3.

Still, you wish to express your current state of mind,
Your utter and complete repulse at a number of things:

(The most diligent of your thoughts is only used to describe as much as your current state of vitality.)

4.

In the course of several hours you wait around
And find several leads,
And several un-finished notions.

You find there are
Fragments to correct,
And sentences to complete.

5.

It has been raining as hard as diamonds,
And as irrefutable as gold.

And on this particular day of question, subjectivity, and obsolete expression
You find yourself at an end.

6.

It is the end of all logic,
The end of any form of judgment, reason, or sense,
And the end of any form of self-expression growing beneath your finger tips,
Leaving your membrane's heart exposed.

7.

You are a vegetable,
A coward;
A recreant of original deliberation.

8.

You sit upon your couch,
The atonement for your ludicrous actions,
And you wonder.

You question.
You muse.
You stare.

You seek…

9.

You find.

A light!

That spark of recognition which only comes when thoughts somehow hold a trace of all that you know-
Which cannot quite be put into words,
But only expressed through the mind's recovery.

You have finally found your error,
Like a punch-drunk lover
Who plugs away at every shadow,
You were stuck in an argument.

Aggressive,
Uncontainable,
Interposed,
Constrained,

You failed to miss what was hidden
Beneath the shadow,
And underneath the deranged-

10.

Logic cannot be controlled,
And original thought cannot be mustered,

But to think,

Oh,
Just to think
From day to day,
Hour to hour,
Minute to minute
And every second in between

Is your greatest triumph,
And your greatest feat.

And it is thoughts like these,
of course,

That make all the difference,
That set you apart;
That mean everything.

Strange Things Will Happen

My parents recently unveiled that our annual summer vacation (which usually consists of a week trip to some kind of cabin, camping spot, or ranch) will be taking place in Montreal and Nova Scotia CANADA this year...

Werthy

I have known of model-cum photographer/videographer Ellen von Unwerth from the time I first started religiously obsessing over fashion.

Her name would always pop up here and there, from time to time, and I would enjoy her photographs with great pleasure while the memory would leave footprints in my brain, and a curious air that only comes from a certain stroke of genius ala someone like Annie Leibowitz, or Steven Meisel.

I fell in love with her when I saw her video "Wendy Bird" for a previous Erin Fetherston collection...

I recently realized her iconography when I found a site which categorized all of her photographic contributions A-Z...

Goodness!

I can not even fathom how someone can achieve that much in one lifetime, as I personally know how much the production of a single shoot can weigh on a cast of people. I can not believe the hundreds of concepts, locations, models, actresses, etc that Ellen von Unwerth has covered, worked with, conceptuatlized... yet she still manages to surprise us every time.

Enter/Exit

[I am becoming very wary of school.]

Spring is in the air, and I am simply going..no where.
It is time for a vacation, before my lifeguarding job gets hectic this summer!
Luckily, my boss announced to me that she would most likely be giving me weekends off this summer, which will leave me plenty of time...

Now what to do with it...

The House of Elliott

A couple of years ago, when my family wasn't off so well in the finances department, I recieved a DVD set as my "big" gift for Christmas. It wasn't that I exactly detested it, rather I was expecting a year pass to disneyland, UGG boots, or some other detestable of-the-moment gift which would have expired easily within a years time.

Said DVD set sat on my shelf for 3 years, until I moved out and exhausted every movie purchase that I currently own. Last week, I pulled out "The House of Elliott", and popped it into my internetless laptop, and decided to give it a spin. Four hours later, it was 3 in the morning, RLS, and teary eyes that brought me to consent that Momma really does know best...
